SGIAC 25th Anniversary Member Show

The Southern Gulf Islands Arts Council agrees to accept artwork by the ARTIST for display in the Southern Gulf Islands Arts Council 25th Anniversary Exhibition 2024 at the Mayne Island Agricultural Hall, Mayne Island, BC, August 23-25, 2024 and on the SGIAC’s website, August 26- September 30, 2024 at www.artsontheislands.org

The ARTIST retains ownership of all work consigned to or represented by the SGIAC. 

While the ARTIST retains copyright to all consigned artwork, the ARTIST agrees that the SGIAC may use an image of their art for promotional purposes whether online or in print, for the promotion of the exhibition or for any other SGIAC function. 

The ARTIST understands that the SGIAC, its members, volunteers, and representatives respect intellectual property rights of artists and work to uphold Canadian copyright laws.  The ARTIST understands that work submitted for exhibition must be original creations by the ARTIST. 

The SGIAC will retain 20% of the sale price of artwork sold during the live and online exhibition.

The ARTIST will be responsible for delivery/shipping sold artworks, if required, and for the costs associated with shipping. Purchasers of artworks will be informed that delivery/shipping arrangements will be made directly with the artist and that the purchaser may, at the discretion of the ARTIST, be responsible for the cost of shipping in addition to the purchase price.

Payment to ARTIST of 80% of the sale price of artwork will be processed upon conclusion of the online exhibition on September 30 and may take up to 30 days.  

Reasonable efforts will be made to protect artwork from accidental damage, breakage or loss. By signing this waiver, the ARTIST agrees to not hold the SGIAC, its members, volunteers, and representatives responsible for damage, breakage or loss. The ARTIST agrees to maintain responsibility of any costs associated with loss or damage to artworks, frames or display materials. 

Copyright notice: The Southern Gulf Islands Arts Council respects every artist’s rights to protect their original work. Therefore we observe copyright laws. Artwork submitted for exhibition that makes substantive use, in whole or in part, of the artwork of another artist will not be accepted unless express permission in writing is granted by the original creator or the reference material is within the public domain. Reference material includes but is not limited to photographs, digital images, book or printed material.
